Background to Psy503

In1983 Dr Van Acker established the psychiatric and psychotherapeutic centre now known as « Psy503 ».

Convinced of the value of teamwork, both for patients and therapists, he progressively surrounded himself with other psychiatrists, psychologists and psychotherapists to form the present team. The centre is fully autonomous and non-subsidised and works in close collaboration with the patient’s general practitioner, family, school, etc.

The aim of the centre has always been to take psychotherapeutic responsibility for the patient’s suffering through various therapeutic methods and procedures. It requires a specific therapy for each problem of each individual in accordance with his or her lifestyle.
